PADI Diving Courses

 PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the largest diving organisation of the world and Achilleon Diving Centet is an official PADI RESORT. We operate since 2001 and we are dedicated to give you the best diver training using proper and annually serviced equipment.

 Do not forget that the ratio of students to instructor is low, so you get the individual  attention you need  to become confident and succeed the course.

Bubblemaker

The best introduction in scuba diving for children over 8 years old. The course lasts about 2 hours and they make dive at 2 meters/6 feet. An unforgettable experience and the best present the parents can offer to their children. Kids get a chance to :

• Experience what scuba diving is like under the direct care and supervision of PADI Instructors
• Take their first breath underwater
• Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children

                  Minimum age: 8

Seal Team

Here is the chance for children over 8 years old to try some diving skills, meet friends while they are having fun. This is also an excellent way to introduce kids to scuba diving prior to full Open Water Diver certification. The PADI Seal Team program is broken into two parts. Part one ,AquaMissions 1-5 ,teaches kids the basics of diving-things like  buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, etc. After building a solid foundation of scuba skills, kids move on to part two. Part two is full of specialty AquaMissions, which usually last about an hour. Minimum age: 8

PADI Seal Team

• Helps children learn responsibility
• Teaches children about the aquatic environment
• Is a fun pool-only experience
• Is conducted by certified, trained PADI Professionals

Discover Scuba Diving

Duration : 2 hours

Have you ever wondered what is like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out you can try Discover Scuba Diving. This program includes an actual scuba dive in open water and may count toward PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver. You spend with us two hours , you have a small lesson first and then we go for our dive and we spend 40 minutes underwater. Minimum age:10

·  Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it

·  Find out what itΆs like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there

·  Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course  when you take the next step

Scuba Diver

Duration: 2-3 Days

The PADI Scuba Diver program is an entry level certification, which is perfect for when you're on holiday and plan to dive just a couple of times a year.
As a Scuba Diver, you are qualified to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI professional anywhere in the world to a max depth of 12m/40 feet - a wonderful opportunity to explore your underwater world in comfort and safety with an experienced guide accompanying you. You can also, rent  or purchase scuba equipment and at any time after certifying as a Scuba Diver, take a short upgrade course to become a PADI Open Water Diver.
Throughout the course, you'll learn a lot about scuba diving, including your diving equipment and techniques. Minimum age: 10

Open Water Diver

Duration : 4 days

 Get certified!!If youΆve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the worldΆs most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. This certification is recognised at dive centres worldwide and you will learn to dive safely to a depth of 18m with a buddy. Throughout the course, you'll learn the theory of scuba diving, extend your knowledge of dive equipment and improve your diving skills.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

• Knowledge Development  to understand basic principles of scuba diving
• Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
• Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

If youΆve tried diving through a Discover Scuba Diving experience or resort course, the skills you learned may be credited towards a portion of the full PADI Open Water Diver course certification.

Minimum age: 10

Advanced Open Water

Duration: 3 days

 TheyΆre what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. One of the most interesting courses that helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water.  This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor.  This course builds on what youΆve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. To certify as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you must take part in 5 dives, the Deep dive and Navigation dive. You can choose 3 of the remaining Adventure dives with your instructor from the following:

· Night

·  Peak Performance Buoyancy

·  Search and Recovery

·  Underwater Naturalist

Rescue Diver

Duration: 3 days

This course is a very important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as well as increasing your confidence. Building upon what youΆve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. During these, you will cover:

·                            The psychology of rescue

·                            Preparation for emergencies

·                            Accident management

·                            Responding to diver emergencies

·                            Self-rescue

·                            Tired diver

·                            Panicked diver

·                            Response from shore or boat with both a responsive and   unresponsive diver

·                            Distressed diver underwater

·                            Missing diver

·                            Surfacing the unresponsive diver

·                            Response at surface and exit

·                            First aid for pressure related injuries and oxygen administration

To enroll in the Rescue Diver you should have completed an Emergency First Response course within24 months or an equivalent accepted certification.

Minimum age:15

Emergency First Response

Duration: 1 day

Emergency First Response gives you the skills you need to perform CPR and First Aid. Whether you're a diver or a non-diver, Emergency First Response helps you to properly handle potentially life-threatening situations. What You Learn in the EFR Primary and Secondary Care Courses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
• AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)
• Preventing and caring for shock
• Spinal injury management
• Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
• Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

Divemaster

Duration: 7 days

Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. The course can be completed in 7 days but we recommend our candidates to spend 2  week at least with us so as to gain as much experience as possible. After becoming certified as a PADI Divemaster you will be authorized to:

• Supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organizing and directing dives
• Assist a PADI instrusctor during the training sessions for any PADI Diver course
• Conduct the PADI Skin Diver course and PADI Discover Snorkeling program
• Conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving experience
• Conduct the PADI Scuba Review program
• If qualified as a Discover Scuba Diving Leader, independently conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program.
• Earn the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating to be able to teach the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty.
• Independently guide Open Water Diver course students on the tour portion of Open Water Diver course Training Dives 2, 3 and 4 at a ratio of two student divers per certified divemaster.
• Accompany Open Water Diver students under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor during:
• surface swims to and from the entry/exit point and during navigational exercises
• when the instructor conducts a skill, such as an ascent or descent, a Divemaster can remain with other student divers (with an individual student or buddy team)
• Accompany student divers during Adventure Dives  or Specialty training dives under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor.
• Conduct the PADI Seal Team AquaMission
• Conduct subsequent dives under an instructorΆs indirect supervision for Discover Scuba Diving participants after participants have satisfactorily completed the first dive with a PADI Instructor.
• Teach Emergency First Response  courses after successfully completing an Emergency First Response Instructor course.

PADI Open Water Referral

Duration: 2 Days

If you've already completed the 5 confined water and knowledge development sections of the PADI Open Water Diver course at home, you can complete your open water training here in Corfu with Achilleon Diving Center. This will include 4 Open Water dives from the boat or shore depending. In just 2 days you will gain full certification as a PADI Open Water Diver.

We should bring along your RDP table (dive planner) and your PADI Referral form showing proof of having completed all 5 theory and confined modules signed by a PADI Instructor and valid within 1 year.

Scuba Review

Duration: 1/2 day

 Has it been a while since youΆve been scuba diving? Do you feel like your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty? The Scuba Review Tune-up is just the refresher you need. It reacquaints you with diving so that you're back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in less than a day.
The Scuba Review is a short refresher course including a review of the safety information you learned during your initial training along with a supervised skill session in confined water with your Instructor. They will help you tune up important diving skills such as buoyancy and breath control, equipment assembly and breathing from an alternative air source. You can then take a supervised open water dive to rediscover the beauty of the underwater world.

PADI Specialty Courses

Duration: 1 - 2 days

The purpose of a PADI Specialty Course is to familiarise you with the techniques, knowledge, planning, organisation, potential hazards and safety skills for various special interest areas of diving. The Specialty Course is a safe and supervised introduction to that area.
